Fitted with an in flight refueling probe and carrying self-defense sidewinder AAMs, the Nimrod MR.Mk 2 can patrol deep into the Arctic and Atlantic oceans from bases in Scotland and Cornwall.

The Blackburn can only be described as graceless, and it seen here in form of a Blackburn Mk II.

The Ferret Mk II had distinctive Fairey vertical tail (a nearly rectangular fin and a taller balanced rudder), and here the landing gear spreader bar sports the gear to catch the longitudinal arrester wires used by the aircraft carriers of the day.

The Shackleton AEW.Mk 2 of the Royal Air Force were replaced with Boeing Sentry AEW.Mk 1s from 1991.

Seen in service with No.179 Squadron of RAF Costal Command, this Warwick GR.Mk V has the surface search radar and trainable Leigh light respectively under the forward and rear fuselage sections.

The Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft, a derivative of the graceful comet 4C has proved an excellent surveillance type.
