The five blade ducted fan of the Fantrainer is located behind the wing trailing edge, and the rear fuselage is a cruciform structure to support the tail unit without seriously impending the flow of propulsive air from the pusher fan.

The Fw 159 VI made only one flight. The main legs retracted nicely after take off but refused to extend fully as the pilot prepared to land, resulting in a somersault and total destruction as the prototype touched down.

The Do 335A-1 was an original answer to the problems of using two engines in a single seat fighter, but the nearest it got to operational status was Erprobungskommando 335, an operational evaluation unit, during the spring of 1945.
